Volunteer Your Time

cathug.jpg

If you're reading this page, you're probably an animal lover. Please consider contributing to the work of the SPCA by volunteering. We need people to spend time with the animals, raise funds and friends for the shelter, and to serve as foster families for animals not quite ready for adoption. Stop by Four Paws Lane today and help us work toward a day when there are no more homeless pets.

Dedicated volunteers are a large part of what makes the Frances Willis SPCA a successful animal welfare organization. Volunteers work as their schedules allow; here are some of the possibilities for involvement. Call the shelter at (843) 871-3820 for more information.

Dog Walkers

Fill each Shelter canine's day with love, socialization and exercise by taking the SPCA's pooches for walks.

Cat and Dog Socializers

Socializers create a homelike environment for our animals. They play with, pet, brush, talk to and provide love for the animals until permanent adopters can be found.

Foster Parenting

Foster volunteers provide a temporary home (usually 3-4 weeks) for animals who are either sick or injured or too young to be adopted. The SPCA provides for the animals' medical needs.

Special Projects

Volunteers help organize and staff our annual special events, work on pet issues at the grassroots level, staff information booths at fairs and community events, etc.

Other Ways to Help

If you don't have time to become a regular volunteer, you can still help The Frances Willis SPCA by becoming a Guardian Angel Sponsor.  Sponsor a dog run or cat cage for six months, a year, or a lifetime.  In return, you get a plate with the inscription of your choice and the satisfaction knowing that you are helping save that pets life.
